Reasons why people don’t Exercise
- Simply don’t like or enjoy Exercise – Some people tend to rule out exercise before they have tried all aspects of it. Some people just simply do not enjoy exercising so they don’t do it.
- You always quit Exercise – Some people head straight into exercise head on and don’t realise that you have to start of slowly first and eventually build up to complete a training programme. When things start off too hard people tend to quit and can’t maintain it.
- You have too many Commitments – You have other things you have to do like friends and family commitments, so people have to work hard to fit exercise into already busy lives.
- You don’t have anyone to Exercise with – Some people may not find any of their friends who are willing to exercise with them and are worried about making new friends. A gym or dance classes/fitness classes may be intimidating to some people as they may be worried about not fitting in.
- You have a fear of injury – Getting a injury or hurting themselves plays on a lot of peoples minds and they get scared to take part in exercise. These people should see a fitness instructor for advice on what to do and the different training programmes.
- You’re too embarrassed and self-conscious – People can become embarrassed about exercising infront of other people but in the long run exercise is what will stop you being embarrassed.
- You don’t have sufficient funds – Some people cant afford to join a gym or fitness club/classes. They may also live far from gyms and won’t be able to afford the transport. However there are ways around it as you could just go on regular walks, or go jogging and eventually start running regularly every week.
- Your too lazy – You may just not be motivated towards doing exercise and cant be bothered to start.
- You find exercise too boring – You may find going to a gym boring or running boring. There are many different things you could do and you can vary it each time you exercise. One time you could go swimming and the next time play a game of football. You are bound to find something you will like!
- You don’t know how to exercise or where to start – You may not have a clue where to start with exercise but if you research and ask for information at a local gym or friends you will soon get the hang of it.
